Every year, I do a 30 days of Thanksgiving on my facebook status.  Now, some of you have read them since we are personal friends; but I’m guessing most of you haven’t.  I’m going to share my favorites with you below.  Some are silly, some are serious.  But they are ALL heart-felt.  I love to do this to help remind me of the people and things I have in my life that I’m truly lucky to have and it gives me a chance to give those I love a shout out.  (If you’ve already read them, please forgive the redundancy.)

Day 1:  Today, I am thankful for Joel, Jamie, and Riley. They fill our home with laughter and music, two of my favorite sounds.
Day 2:  I am thankful for my friend and writing partner, Nicole. She keeps me uplifted, listens to my problems, counsels me, and most importantly understands me. I love being me with you, and can’t wait to see where our business goes! Love you!
Day 3:  I am thankful for Krispy Kreme doughnuts and coffee.
Day 4:  I’m thankful for my Grandma. She was always there for me when I was sick, which in turn taught me how to take care of my sick baby last night.
Day 5:  I’m thankful for lots of things today. Zofran, Zithromax, Pediasure, popsicles, the local ER, beside buckets, and a carpet scrubber.

Jamie, dancing on stage in the Nutcracker

Day 6:  Today I am thankful for living in a small town. It took me 15 minutes to vote. I am thinking of all of my friends that are standing in long lines, some in the rain and cold, to cast their vote. Blessings to you all, and thank you for voting! (It goes without saying that I’m super thankful that I have the right to vote and live in this great country!)
Day 9:  I’m thankful for space heaters, wool socks, and sunshine.
Day 10:  I’m thankful for a wonderful husband who loves me when I’m happy and when I’m cranky. He is a great provider for his family, a wonderful father, and my best friend. Thank you,Joel, for giving me the life I always dreamed of.
Day 11:  Thank you to all of the veterans who have served and to the military personnel who are still serving. Thank you to their families for making it possible for them to do so. And thank you for my freedom.

Day 13:  I’m thankful for my Jamie. He has taught me unconditional love, acceptance of others, forgiveness, and the art of communication with no spoken words. He is my first-born, my only son. Jamie’s eyes are so expressive and full of love, framed by eyelashes that most women are envious of. His smile lights up a room. For a kid who didn’t start walking until he was 6, he hasn’t let much slow him down. He loves to play baseball, and spend time with his friends. He loves to read books, and watch movies. He is his Grandpa’s boy. He loves his sister and can’t wait for her to come home from school every day. I am thankful that God chose Joel and me to be his parents, for we truly were blessed on that day in July 2002 when he came into our lives.

Joel and Riley, ready to dance in the Nutcracker

Day 14:  Today, I am thankful for my little girl, Riley Grace. She has brought so much happiness into our lives. She has the darkest brown eyes I’ve ever seen, the prettiest golden hair, and the funniest sense of humor. She is the best 5-year-old artist. I love listening to her read and seeing her write sentences. She is growing up to be quite the little lady. Riley makes me laugh, and want to pull my hair out. She has the best fashion sense and instinctively knows what goes with what. Her attitude is huge but so is her heart. She is a good girl, and tries her best to be polite. She loves her brother and her friends with her whole heart. Her Daddy and I are lucky that she’s ours. With her, our family is complete.

Day 15:  I am thankful for all of my nieces and nephews. I am in awe of the things you’re accomplishing and so very proud of each of you. Special shout out to Miss Sarah. Happy 18th birthday, Sweetie! I was there when you were born, and I’ll always be there for you. Love you all-Brian, Cayce, Enzo, Sarah, Stephen, Ian, Jack, David, Latham, and Skylan.
Day 16:  I’m thankful for zappos.com. I love getting new shoes!
Day 17:  Today, I’m thankful that when I say to Joel, “I have an idea”, he runs with it. He helps me accomplish the things that need to be done around the house that I can’t do by myself. My hall closet has new shelves in it and everything is in its place, finally. Thanks, Joel, for helping me get that work done today!
Day 18:  I’m thankful for sunshine. It’s a beautiful day!
Day 20:  I am thankful for my sister. She’s always there when I need to talk. She’s been my best friend for 36 years. She knows me better than anyone else. We share parents, a brother, and a fabulous extended family. She loves me so much she shares her in-laws with me and my kids. I love you, Kim! I miss you and I’ll see you in a few short weeks!
Day 21:  I am thankful for great friends who support me and love me and my kids. You ladies keep me going and keep me laughing! 4 years ago when I moved here it was hard to make good friends but somehow we found each other and I’m so thankful for that. Love each and every one of you!
Day 22:  Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for a warm house and my mom’s afghan this morning.
Day 24: I am thankful for the Christmas spirit. I asked Riley what makes Christmas so special and she said it was the love in her heart. I love that she is so excited about Chippy (the kids’ Elf on the Shelf) and Santa. Jamie likes all of the food. 🙂
Day 26:  I’m thankful my kids are so happy about the holidays. Years ago I would have been in a funk for missing my mom. Now that I have kids (and especially Riley who makes everything seem so new again) I’m just as excited as they are. We are having so much fun with our Chippy and gearing up for both kids to dance in the Nutcracker this week. I love this season!
Day 28:  I am thankful that I don’t have to win the Powerball to feel rich. Even though that money might be nice (some say it’s a curse) to have, I don’t need lots of money to know that I have a rich life. I love my family, I have wonderful friends, I have Him in my heart. What else does a girl need?

Day 29:  I’m thankful I didn’t win half a billion dollars last night. Now I don’t have to change my name, move, or worry about what to do with all of that cash. That kinda thing could make a girl go insane. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Day 30: I am thankful for all of you. And to our readers over on www.modifiedmamas.com, You guys rock!
